Bassetlaw Place-Based Partnership

Bassetlaw Place-Based Partnership (formally NHS Bassetlaw CCG) delivers improvement in experiences, health and wellbeing for Bassetlaw citizens, through simpler, integrated, responsive and well-understood services - ensuring local people get the right support at the right time. Through our learning to date, we are able to achieve more when we work collaboratively. All of our PBP programmes are developed and delivered in partnership. Partners will work together to shape and deliver programme priorities.
Partners include NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals, Nottinghamshire County Council, Bassetlaw District Council, Bassetlaw Community and Voluntary Service, Larwood Health Partnership, Retford and Villages Primary Care Network, Newgate Medical Group and Healthwatch Nottinghamshire.

In recognition of my work at BCVS, the partnership approached BCVS to ask if they could purchase some of my time to lead their communications.
This began in August 2023.
Move More in May
Move More in May evolved into a dynamic initiative aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles within our local community. started supporting the campaign in 2022, and I've been privileged to witness its growth, and have gone on to lead the campaign in 2023 and 2024.

The primary objective remains to inspire individuals to embrace a more active lifestyle throughout May, with a hope that these habits will endure beyond the month of May.Throughout the years, we've hosted a variety of engaging activities, including family fun days, competitions to win healthy prizes, and encouraged participation in events like the Welbeck Walk 5K.
Collaborating closely with health partners such as ABL Health and other local charities, we've been able to amplify our message and reach a broader audience. As we prepare for the 2024 campaign, we've unveiled a new logo, a dedicated website, and a supportive Facebook group. This will help us increase our community engagement, and will create a supportive environment where individuals can share their progress, seek advice, and celebrate their achievements.
Move More in May continues to empower individuals to prioritise their health and wellbeing, creating lasting habits that contribute to a happier, healthier community.

In 2024, we introduced a stand-alone website for the campaign - www.movemoreinmay.org.uk

In 2024, we reached thousands of local people, advertised over 200 events encouraging movement, hosted a finale evemt, and had our biggest year to date.

Timely Presentation Cancer Awareness Campaign
Working alongside local cancer charity Aurora Wellbeing and partners from South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance, we launched a new innovative cancer awareness campaign in January 2024.The campaign aims to encourage people to check their bodies as much as they check their phones and increase the early diagnosis figures in Bassetlaw.

The campaign has already received recognition from partners in health, as well as local people, for it's creativity and for normalising checking our bodies.

Bassetlaw Comms Network
I relaunched and restructured the Bassetlaw Comms Network, giving it a new name and ensuring as many local comms leads as possible knew about it and were able to join in. The network aims to ensure local comms leads working in health, public and voluntary organisations are able to network, connect, share ideas and collaborate. The network meets once a month and has 30 members.
LGBT+ History Month 2024
On 1st February 2024 I designed and launched a comprehensive LGBT+ History resource page so that local organisations and partners could easily access resources in relation to LGBT+ History. This has helped to encourage local organisations to be inclusive and celebrate the month. The effort put in to this work has been highly commended by the Head of EDI at Nottingham and Nottinghamshire NHS. You can view the resources page HERE.
Website Creation
During my time at BPBP I have designed and created two bespoke websites.

A website dedicated to promoting the mental health support available in Bassetlaw.

www.bassetlawfocusonfarmers.org.uk
A website dedicated to supporting farmers with their mental health and in recognising cancer symptoms.
School Holiday Support
We are aware that during the school holidays, parents can often feel a little lost and unaware of the support that is available to them.
In Summer 2023 and February 2024, I collated all the school holiday activities (either low cost of free), and all the support networks available, into an online digital booklet for parents to easily access the information they need. This was then shared with every school in Bassetlaw and widely promoted on social media.
You can read the February 2024 booklet HERE.
